Today I've been seeing many themes and topics of love coming up. I find this almost ironic seeing as yesterday was supposed to be the "love day" of the year - AKA Valentine's Day.
Although topics of love are coming up - it would seem that people are questioning if real love exists.
My first thoughts are - how can someone have just had a "special" day with their "special someone" and now be questioning if real love exists?
This to me would lead to one of two things
- this person doesn't know what love is
- there "special someone" doesn't know what love is and today this person is lacking
So it would seem to me - we're questioning if real love exists. The greater question is, what is love?
1 John 4:8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
1 John 4:16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.
Now - based on these verses, if God is love and your special someone does not know God, how can this person possibly love you? Furthermore, if God is love and you do not know God, how can you love someone else?
Now, knowing this, is it possible that real love exists?
